Erlebnispark Tripsdrill is located in Cleebronn in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. During our study trip we visited the amusement park and we stayed in a cozy tree house near the wildlife park. Keep on reading to find more about this amazing place.
Theme park Tripsdrill
Erlebnispark Tripsdrill was opened in 1929 and is therefore the oldest amusement park in Germany. In total there are around 100 attractions in the park, including a number of large roller coasters, but also several small children’s attractions.
The park is themed after ‘Zwaben in 1880’, various ‘fairy tales’ that tell the story of how people used to live in the 19th century in Germany. One of those stories is about the ‘Altweibermühle’: a mill where old women were tucked in and then came out young again.
The park is located in Cleebronn, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The park is in between different hills, which gives you a very nice and quiet environment in which you are not distracted from what is happening in the real world. For that reason, nice to escape for a weekend.
Both parks are open from the beginning of April to the beginning of November. The parks are open daily between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The wildlife park remains open during the winter season.
There are several passes that you can purchase, so you can combine it with a visit to the wildlife park and you can also spend the night near the park. We stayed in a treehouse ourselves, about which I will tell more later in this article.
A day ticket for children from 4 to 11 years old is € 28.00. For adults this is € 33.00. Read more about the opening times and tickets of a day at Tripsdrill here!
Tripsdrill has a large selection of attractions. Most is thematic to domestic and rural activities. For example, there is a large coffee grinder and you can make a splash with a bathtub.
In addition, there are a number of larger roller coasters such as the ‘Karacho’ with a very special turn that I had never experienced before. Watch my face during the ride:
The amusement park also offers a lot of information and serves as a kind of open-air museum where you can learn everything about the sagas from Germany in 1880.

Wildlife park Tripsdrill
The wildlife park is five minutes from the amusement park. Here you will also find all the accommodations that the park offers. The wildlife park is a small zoo on a hill with a nice collection of animals.
Prices Wildlife park
There is the possibility to purchase tickets in combination with the amusement park, but for a single ticket to the wildlife park you pay € 8.00 for children from 4 to 11 years and € 11.00 for adults.
In addition to the collection of animals, there is also a bird of prey show and you have the opportunity to look at the animals being fed. The bird of prey show is entirely in German so it was pretty hard to understand. Besides, I was terrified for a moment when vulture Mara decided to come and take a closer look.
The collection of animals they have is pretty big. The animals have large living environments and are easy to see (and photograph). In addition to the animals that are under lock and key, there are also a number of areas where you can walk between the animals and even touch them. Say no more.
What I also really liked about the wildlife park was that there were many interactive games in the woods that try to teach you something more about nature. Certainly nice for children.
Spend the night in a treehouse
Wow, I have no words for this. This was fantastic and I recommend it to everyone. We spent the night in a tree house!
In addition to the wildlife park you will find all the accommodation and thus also the tree houses. They have a large collection of tree houses, and they are all unique! Inside it is of course not very big, but just big enough for a pleasant evening.
We stayed in a tree house for 6 people, we also had a double bed and four single beds. The bathroom was small but also looked very nice. In addition, there was a small kitchen and a table to sit at.
In the morning you have to go through the wildlife park to go to the breakfast restaurant, well what a punishment. That means saying hi to the deer and goats in the morning. The breakfast was good, not special.
Prices overnight stay in tripsdrill
The prices for overnight stays in Tripsdrill of course differ per accommodation, for two people per night you pay € 169.00 in the treehouse. Breakfast and access to the wildlife park are included.
You also have Shepherd’s Wagons where you can sleep for € 89.00 per night for two people. Read more about the prices of the accommodations here.
I really enjoyed my time in Tripsdrill and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a weekend away or as a stopover to your next destination. It is a quiet, natural environment with nice attractions and other facilities. The overnight stay in a treehouse is definitely a must!
